Stepping into a Generation Where Lens See More

Smartphones, as we all know have become an inseparable part of our life. Even the traditional alarm clocks are nowhere to be seen with the advent of smartphones. The facilities which it provides is increasing day by day and thus spreading its roots to our lives.
One such feature is the camera. Who doesn't love to save their precious moments within a frame to be remembered forever.Dual cameras have become ubiquitous in the smartphone world, and with them has emerged a new technique for simulating a shallow depth of field — the feature commonly called ‘Portrait Mode.

Multimedia: Engineering Design Education Aid

Multimedia applications can provide enormous enrichment to the methodology of teaching, learning and learning by doing. When developing applications for the teaching of engineering design using these means of communication it is important to consider the special features of this field. This contribution gives a report on the experience gained by using multimedia applications in different ways of teaching in the education of engineering design students. In 12 years of using digital media to train students and six years of delivering compulsory lectures by tele-teaching, it has proved that the classic didactical forms such as lecture, tutorial, project work and private studies are still the mainstay of methodology. However, using information and communication technologies (ICT) in basic teaching forms has an impact on the impairment of knowledge itself as well as its perception by the students. This paper exemplifies the didactically forms successfully used in the education of engineering students. The following activities will be reported on: enhancement of conventional lectures and tutorials using multimedia; development of learning software for individual private study and its application; and delivery of tele-teaching lectures, and co-operative work during tele-tutorials.

 Musical Instrument Digital Interface

Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is a technical standard that describes a communications protocoldigital interface, and electrical connectors and allows a wide variety of electronic musical instrumentscomputers and other related music and audio devices to connect and communicate with one another.A single MIDI link can carry up to sixteen channels of information, each of which can be routed to a separate device.
MIDI carries event messages that specify notationpitch and velocity (loudness or softness), control signals for parameters such as volume, vibratoaudio panning from left to right, cues in theater, and clock signals that set and synchronize tempo between multiple devices.

Advantages of MIDI include :-
  • small file size
  • ease of modification and manipulation
  • wide choice of electronic instruments and synthesizer or digitally-sampled sounds.

The Kabuki-Pedir Shop is Launching 'VR Shopping with Voice Chat'

KABUKI will soon be offering a new way for Japanese consumers to purchase items at its Kabuki-Pedir shop with a new 'VR Shopping with Voice Chat' experience.

Consumers will be able to download a dedicated smartphone app and strap on a virtual reality headset in order to become immersed in fashion runway shows and other simulations that involve products normally sold through the store. As well as being able to see these products come to life with virtual reality, consumers will also be able to make purchases using the virtual reality technology.

The chat component of the app means that shoppers will be able to converse with friends while they are browsing, making the selection process just like window shopping with a group of friends. The VR Shopping with Voice Chat provides a look into a future where e-commerce and virtual reality converge.
Augmented Reality Integrated Through Social Media
As our mobile devices become more powerful and social apps better integrate with AR, brands will use AR to better engage with consumers. For example, using your location, brands could trigger sponsored AR content, which can only be accessed at that spot, at that time. Pokemon Go was the pioneer with this idea, and I feel Instagram and Facebook will soon be integrating this tech into its platforms.
